Dissension (Long Beach)
Dissension killed it at Warfest last Saturday night in their hometown of Long Beach. Featuring a mix of songs from as far back as their 1985 debut album, Dissension showed resolve in their stated goal of playing a “kick ass” show. I couldn’t help thinking to myself that Dissension should be headlining punk shows, a sentiment I’ve shared at past Dissension performances. Dissension is one the few local punk bands that you can count on to be eternally fun. They’re raw, original, and untainted by the media’s view of what music is supposed to sound like. In other words, they’re not posers in any sense of the word.
