Dropkick Murphys – Boston to Berkeley
CONCERT PHOTOGRAPHY
Dropkick Murphys
The Boston to Berkeley Tour was one of those shows that checks every box. The crowd was brimming with energy and the bands fed off it all night. Dropkick Murphys came right out of the gate with The Boys Are Back and maintained a fast-paced tone throughout their long and genuinely engaging set that consisted of all the favorites. The entire setlist had songs that we all know and can sing along with… Turn Up That Dial, L-EE-B-O-Y, Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya, I Fought The Law, and more! (Including I’m Shipping Up To Boston and Rose Tattoo). Check out the entire Setlist below…
The dueling vocals of Ken Casey and Al Barr are great, the two spar back and forth while pacing the stage. Not only is this great from a spectator perspective, covering more stage than a single singer could, but they both have powerful voices that complement perfectly. I love the sneering look that Al has when he’s just hit you with a strong message. You always need to stay alert and scan the entire stage, because at any moment you might miss the bagpipe guy (Lee Forshner), or the accordion guy (Tim Brennan), or the banjo guy (Jeff DeRosa), or the shredding guitarist (James Lynch)! See what I mean? An endless roster of talent! Hopefully I didn’t mess up any names, but I think you get the point, Dropkick Murphys has a deep bench and everyone gets some time in the spotlight. Super great show that is a “must see” for fans of fun. You’ll be screaming along until you no longer have a voice!
