Plague Vendor Shows Us The Goods at North Beach Boogie in San Clemente

Every “successful” music festival is reliant upon some key ingredients… good venue, great people, and a spectacular band! North Beach Boogie (Day #2) had all of these things… the area next to Landers in San Clemente was well put together with drink tents, band merchandise,  lots of cool retail goods, and best of all they had Plague Vendor!

We didn’t make it to Day #1, so I can’t comment on how that part of the festival went, but I’d assume it was great. Why do I assume that? Because the staff at Landers that was running the festival are great, they definitely know how to throw a party, they know how to have fun. They are the “Super Spreaders” of having a great time!

As we watched people meander around and start to fill the venue, there was a general state of melancholy. It was like there was fuel for a fire, just waiting for the right spark to set it off.  Plague Vendor was more than the spark needed to ignite this party, it was like using a flame thrower to light a birthday candle!

Plague Vendor is made up of singer Brandon Blaine, guitarist Jay Rogers, bassist Michael Perez, and drummer Luke Perine. While the band is laying down their infectious music, Brandon is showing off his dynamic vocal ability and range. Not only is Brandon singing without missing a note or a lyric, but he’s climbing the stage’s framework, he’s doing the splits, he’s performing hand-stands on the bass drum, and he’s crowd surfing on top of all fans.

Every show I see Plague Vendor at, I always think to myself, “Wow, they really brought it!” And to quote one of my favorite vocalists, he’d say “Someone had to!” – I can’t wait to see Plague Vendor next week at Alex’s Bar (August 6th)… don’t miss them!
