Punk in the Park 2025 was everything a punk festival should be — loud, raw, and unapologetically fun! With a stacked lineup and an electrifying atmosphere, this year’s festival at Oak Canyon Park delivered yet again.

Let’s start with the obvious: Bad Religion is always amazing. They never disappoint, and I admit, I’m totally biased! Their set was tight, powerful, and packed with all the anthems that define punk rock. I couldn’t ask for more. Photographing the festival came with its challenges (especially during Bad Religion) — red lights and fog machines made it tricky, but those same elements also made for some killer shots when timed just right. That’s what makes shooting live shows so exhilarating!

Seeing Dead Kennedys at Punk in the Park was surreal. So many iconic songs came to life, and Steve Wilson absolutely killed it on drums. He also took a moment to pay tribute to the late D.H. Peligro with a heartfelt message, reminding us that he’ll always live on in the music. It was a touching moment in an otherwise high-energy set.
And let’s talk about The Aquabats — these guys know how to put on a show! Their blend of punk and superhero antics kept the crowd hyped, and they shredded hard. The kids in the audience knew exactly what was up, practically throwing down just to get the best view of their heroes.
Another highlight? Lagwagon! 🤘🏼 They crushed it. The festival runs on a tight schedule, and I was watching as Lil Joe was switching cables and heads right up to the last minute. But they kicked off their set right on time and didn’t miss a beat. Pure high-flying 🚀 energy from start to finish!
And last but not least, Street Dogs 🐶☘️. It had been way too long—five years to be exact—since we last got to see them play, and their special anniversary set was worth the wait. Lucky for us, they brought all the fire and passion that made them legendary.
There were four other bands, but unfortunately (for me), I didn’t get there early enough to cover them… The Defiant, The Briggs, Pulley, and Hoist the Colors. I have seen most of these bands before, so I’m sure I missed out – hope you didn’t!
Punk in the Park once again proved why it’s one of the best punk festivals out there. The energy, the community, the music — it’s all pure magic. Until next year, punk rockers!
